The Rose Family Foundation
Community Program
A community back to school treat is an event that can be organized for students to reduce the stress and anxiety of returning to school. This event can help students to feel a sense of belonging and belongingness to their community.
It can involve giving away school supplies, providing educational resources, or hosting a celebration. It should be planned to be an inclusive event that is accessible to all students regardless of their social and economic backgrounds. The primary purpose of the event should be to promote a sense of community and support for students, parents, and teachers.
Providing resources such as school supplies, books, and even counseling can be incredibly helpful for students and their families. By providing resources and support, the event can help to reduce the stress of the school year and provide a sense of community and belonging.
Education
The aim of the Rose family foundation (RFF) is to provide resources to help students, teachers, and schools with their educational needs. It is a way for us to give back to the local community and foster relationships with the next generation. Providing educational materials, such as textbooks, school supplies, monetary grants, mentorships, internships, and job shadowing opportunities to students will help them prepare for their future.

The Life of Mr and Mrs Rose
Miss Olive was a kind, loving and gentle person. In the district of Ginger Ground where she lived , she was known as the lady who made the best bammy, fried fish and fish tea. On Friday evenings folks would gather in our yard anxiously waiting her arrival from Pedro (seaside), some wanting fish others wanted eels, most times the fish was unscaled because the fishing boat was late coming in, and so she would scale the fish she bought home, it was so fascinating just watching her cleaning those fish, never missing a beat, in fact crowds would gather around her just to watch her doing this task, how skilled she was!!. Her bammy bread was a favorite. Jamaicans who came home to visit had to have Miss Olive bammy bread to take back to foreign.
The district folks called him Mass Astley, those who did not know him too well called him Mr. Rose.
He was a talker, a stern disciplinarian, he did not know his own strength, and he was not afraid of anyone. Without hesitation he would flog any child for being out of order, unruly, disrespectful or vulgar. And he was not afraid to confront the parent of that child he disciplined.
Because he was revered by his peers ,the young men in the district also did the same. If they were smoking or playing dice, they would stop whatever they were doing on seeing him, stand up and say hello, and wait until he was out of sight before continuing what they were doing.
Playing dominoes was his favorite past time and only a few were qualified to play this game with him, in utter silence!!!. A broken table was expected during those games.
In spite of his rough nature, he was a beloved stalwart in his community, a leader in his own right,. Always available in any situation, giving advice and wise counseling to the youths and he lived a life that is still talked of to this day.
The offsprings of Astley & Olive Rose
Our grandparents, Astley & Olive Rose had four Children together. Lorrine, Howard, Sharon & Nadine Rose, however prior to the relationship Astley would already produce his first child, Elaine Rose.
